How to Check Scout Fees

1. Log into ScoutBook.

You'll need a parent account to log into ScoutBook.

Scouting America has a tutorial on making your own account.

Open Scoutbook

2. Go to Your Scout's Account.

Start by going to your dashboard.

Then click on the Scout you want to check.

3. Scroll Down to the Payment Log.

Your Scout's Page has a lot of great info on it, including rank and merit badge information.

Scroll down to the payment log to see their account balance information.

The rule of thumb is this: Grey = positive balance; Red = negative balance.

4. Check Your Scout's Balance.

The payment log keeps both a BALANCE and a LOG of charges and payments. Feel free to look through it. If there are any concerns, reach out to the troop treasurer.

5. Keep an Eye on the Balance.

If your Scout has a zero or positive balance, they're doing an amazing job. You don't need to do anything at this time.

If your Scout has a negative balance, please pay it ASAP.

The Troop participates in regular fundraising opportunities to keep Scouting accessible and affordable for all Scouts. There are also scholarship opportunities. In some instances, financial aid may be available thanks to our donors.

Please be sure to keep an eye on Troop emails for the next fundraising opportunity.

Backup Option

The treasurer keeps a full backup spreadsheet because sometimes Scoutbook is dumb or down.

Families are welcome to see their information on the spreadsheet, though it is limited to in person with the treasurer to protect other families' information.

You can reach the treasurer via the Troop's GroupMe or see them at the next Committee Meeting.
